Memorial Park
The nearby 1892 Phoenix Hotel had faded with the railroad, and in 2000 it was donated to the Downtown Waycross Development Authority. But through a partnership with the state, Ware County, and the City of Waycross, the development authority is renovating the hotel, adding parking and upgrading the park around the Phoenix.
