Hatcher Point Mall
Featuring, among others: "Sears, Roebuck and Co. plans to open an 87,000 square foot full-line store in Hatcher Point Mall in Waycross in spring 2000. The store is expected to employ close to 90 management and sales associates. "We're excited to bring a full-line Sears store to Hatcher Point Mall," said James Aho, Sears district general manager. "Our large new store will allow our customers to shop closer to home, rather than travelling 50 miles to the nearest full-line Sears." Sears at Hatcher Point Mall will have a dramatically refined interior developed for the company by FRCH Design Worldwide, a New York-based architectural firm. It will feature the company's "softer side" - clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories. Highlighted will be Sears own and other national brands, including the company's exclusive Crossroads and Canyon River Blues lines of apparel. A wide array of hardware, appliances and electronics and lawn and garden products including customers' favorite brands such as Kenmore and Craftsman also will be offered. Sears is working closely with the property owner, Pickering Corp. Inc. to bring the new store to Hatcher Point Mall. Sears will join current anchors Belk, JCPenney and Goody's. "Sears is a perfect addition to Hatcher Point Mall," said Joe DiSanto, executive vice president of Amprovest Management Co. Inc., manager of the mall. "It brings a terrific combination of apparel, hardware, appliances and more to our expanding shopping center." Turner One day last week, I tried on some clothes in the ladies dressing room to the right of coming in from the mall entrance. When I first walked in-it smelled HORRIBLE as in very old, filthy carpet. I looked down at the carpet and it looked horrible and that explained the smell. I wouldn't take off my shoes while trying on clothes in fear of catching something. The next day, I went back and went in the ladies dressing room to the right when you're coming in from the front of Belks. I walked in the dressing room and was almost suffocated by the smell which smelled like a horrible air freshener that had been sprayed way too powerfully. The waycross mall needs to get more stores such as American Eagle, Aeropostale, Old navy, etc. Yall have to much of the same crap......the only store there for teenagers that has alot of the styles that we wear is the body shop.
